Not sure what happened there...They quarried the rock for the school on the premises. Found this today in front of a smooth, 20 foot tall section of a limestone rock wall on the premises. Pretty cool when you can track down items used, as described in an article from 1907!!

I'm with you on that. It feels good when research is confirmed by finds.

Years ago I was researching part of CW battle where Confederate sharpshooters were forced from a field by Federal artillery. Searching the field I found dropped Enfield bullets and lots of 3 inch ordinance rifle frags.
