Well, I was pretty worried that there was gonna be snow up there, but when I got there it melted pretty fast! It was a weird awesome day! Got an awesome point, found a handgun, (she's pretty rusted, don't think it can be salvaged =(....) and brought home two fat cutthroat to eat. Best November day so far!!! If anyone knows the type of point, I'd love an ID! Thanks!

The hand gun has what looks like a rearing mustang on the medallions on the grip, could be a Colt then? It definitely seems to be a 45 cal.

The gun might clean up if the rust sealed off the insides, she won't be pretty on the outside but still a nice find. Someone in the metal detector side might be able to tell you how to clean it up. (It goes without saying, but assume it's loaded until you clear it.)

I did figure it is probably loaded, I was at first thinking of giving it an apple cider vinegar bath to get the rust off, but I don't know if that would be good or not...
