Metal Detecting
Good afternoon everyone.
While on lunch break today I went detecting out in the woods. Halfway through I hit a lower tone on the equinox and thought it was a bullet. Instead this pops out about 4 or 5 inches down and was shiny. I thought it was brass but after cleaning it, it feels heavier than brass. It looks like it was soldered onto another peace at one point.
Thanks for looking

Gold or not, it is a beauty...!
Looks like it was a pin, and displayed vertically.

Looks like it's the real deal- I agree with the testing idea- Congrats & GL!

Thank all you guys!!
When I got off work this afternoon I rushed across town to a reputable jeweler to have it tested. The lady took it to the jeweler in the back and as I waited I overheard lead soldering from him. A few minutes later she brought it to me and said it's 10K. I was shocked because I was thinking it was going to be plated gold or something. I looked at him and said its actually real lol. He said yes and what threw him off was that whoever soldered it used lead solder. The jeweler said it was just under a gram. I know it's not much of value but I'm just happy to have found gold! I wish I knew what it was made to represent and can't figure out if the first letter is a D or a O?
