Yeah that got your attention I'm sure.I know I have a lead spill(far right bottom )a bent buckle of some sorts (CW era possibly?), a small ring of some sort, an odd shaped crusty lead whatzit, four iron items help together by an iron loop,and the two pieces on the bottom.The things I want to identify are the two long knife like objects found in the same hole on the bottom of my picture. I'm thing Civil War scalpel,bleeder,or possibly an ink eraser as I was told often mistakes were scraped off in this fashion. These objects were found in the lines of battle so my mind is ticking.

I have one of those tools you pictured. I was told that it was a scraper for removing mistakes when pen and ink were used (after the ink dried). Very interesting, thanks, deldave

People offer confuse the two or use the terms interchangeably. I wish my find still had a handle on it though.Either way I think my find is definitely Civil War.
