I thought I had found the best ring ever today ! Rings #91- #93

My buddy Kevin and I have been hunting in a city we normally don't hunt in the last two days . Never had much luck at this location . I have been looking at different schools in this city that might be good . Well today we found two that I believe have never been hunted ! The first one had so much clad that I started just digging high tones ! After only two hours I had found $16.35 in clad !!! Most of it was quarters . I also found a nice sterling silver ring under a tree . It was a +81 at 3 inches . Along the side lines I found a 6 inch deep 1949S wheat cent . Other find was a junk ring .
The 2nd school was no different , quarter after quarter ! Only an hour and a half I found $11.01 in clad ! Then it happened ! I had a strong +35 at 1 inch and when I pulled back the dirt I saw GOLD !!! Well it looked good any way . As it turned out it is marked 14K HGE . Well at least it will look good in the ring collection .This brings my ring total for the year to #93 . Total clad for just under 4 hours was $27.36 ! For the weekend I had my highest clad total ever in 17 years of hunting ! The total is $41.74 !!!

I know that feeling. When I first started I dug up a HUGE copper men's ring 14K HGE. I didn't realize it was plated at first because the HGE was covered in dirt. All that registered was the 14K. It's so heavy I thought I had made a really nice score.

I still remember that feeling. I think my heart actually did skip a beat or something.

But I still have it. It was ring #2. Dug up a fake silver ring the very next day and went through it all over again.

Oh well, we must take the good with the bad. Your other stuff surely makes up for it.

yeah. It's an instantaneous letdown after you realize you have costume jewelry.

But hey, a ring is still a ring. I'm up to #10 and only two of them are worth anything. I also had lots of fun finding every one of them.

Plus, it's all still good practice for the days you swing over something really nice.
