I thought it was a trigger guard, but maybe not?

Been repaired at one point too.
As a cup or stein or similar container ,tea-pot anything ,rivets could be worked from inside the item.
As a trigger guard or thumb piece inlay ,no access from the side rivets needed flattening from.

Did some electrolysis last night to clean off the "rivets", to find they are actually threaded bolts.

Also, there appears to be a seam of some sorts on the underside.

Hmmm...... well..... maybe part of a coat hook? being threaded makes it interesting... I really don't know what it could be though

Yeah I'm at a loss too, and no one in ID ME on Facebook seems to know either.

I found it at the edge of a cornfield, if that helps any.

I think it's the broken off end of a handle of some sort

I'm inclined to agree. Someone I work with says it's cast brass from a mold, based on the seam on the underside. Could it be a vintage throttle lever to something?

In those cases you can add "-faucet" to your search (so, minus whatever you don't want to show up)
