Seeing there was a late planting season with all the rain this yr most planted Soy Beans. I walked a field today that was a Soy Beans last week. I dont know if I will ever complain about cotton again after that. You cant even see the ground like a hay field. Lucky for me it was windy yesterday and the wind uncovered a few pieces. This was the best and wasnt broken. Besides this I found a broken point and a small piece of pottery. I believe this is a backed knife the unworked side would of been on a handle with the sharp side out. Hope others are having better luck, rock

Nice finds Rock, glad you got out.
We have snow and Floribunda Rose to walk thru here, trade ya, lol.
Man, if I ever get a hold of whoever brought that here....cattle are some of the toughest animals out there and they wont walk thru it. My bull Ferdinand will take a mouthful of bull thistle without a flinch, but walking thru the Floribunda Rose, no way...
I like your knife.

Soy beans makes a big mess and you are right you will go blind almost trying to hunt in it. Nice find:icon_thumleft:

I hate walking corn stuble. Nasty stuff. Wish they tilled the land like they use to. Nowadays they just seed a different crop instead of tilling.
Nice finds.

I should of brought my water boots and rake. The gravel bars were looking good. Water has gone down a bit since my last trip out there. At least I have a new spot when the leaves and grass disappears in that field. The point was quartz which usually means older like archaic around here. You dont find many quartz points here from woodland or Mississippian periods they liked the flint for points.

Around here going blind is really not a concern while hunting a man's soy bean field. That chunk of led in your arse.... That's the one to watch out for.

Nice find rock .... I hate soy burgers haha

I thought they had put hay pieces all over the field till I drove home and saw somebody else harvesting a field of it. It sprays all of the waste rite behind the machine like a shreder does to paper. Its a mess on the ground thats for sure. Hopefully it goes into the soil fast after a good rain. There is 5 fields out in this spot and none of them are good to hunt rite now. Maybe in a month or 2 it will be better.

Rock, that is a Beautiful piece. Thanks for describing how it was used. Very interesting, :) Kat
