In PRECIOUS METAL RECOVERY! :headbang:

I hit three older schools that serve lower income areas yesterday. Don't be fooled, those schools produce! I found two marked .925 sterling rings and one marked 10K gold ring...and they were all what I would call, "surface finds," i.e., not under the soil.

I will share where I found them on the school grounds for our newer detectorists to get out there in their own communities and find some goodies. First, I found the pretty 10k gold band with CZ's in the grass at the end of a paved basketball court. I find rings in these areas more frequently then not. People either lose the rings making a shot, or the rings fall out of pockets of clothing placed there on the ground.

Next, I found the two sterling rings in the tan bark on either side of a swing set. Dig ALL signals in the tan bark, some kids' jewelry is small and the signal will be disguised as foil. Remember, kids, teens, and parents go nuts on the swing sets and jump out quite a distance from the swing, so detect a good, wide swath around all playground apparatus.

Found lots of other fun stuff yesterday also. I dug a large brass bangle, a sports token, a track shoe pendant, a Tinkerbell pendant, another "Omnipresent" mood ring, and a really nice brass Yale padlock with the most recent patent date of Sept. 26, 1878. :hello2: (This was at a depression-era school)

Another surface find was the "fairy bear." (I don't know what it is about me finding "fairy" items, but they bring good luck...kind of like Whadifind's Blingie and Fishy...) Thank you all for looking, Happy Hunting and Merry Christmas to all of my TNet Brothers and Sisters!

Wow! Nice. Great Finds.
I have a couple of areas here that I go to when I want to find an unlimited amount of Pennies, Dimes, and Quarters. The only trouble is they are always newer. I have only found one silver dime.
Some day I will find an area that will produce real nice Silver or Gold

Great finds Sub. You can almost open your own jewelry store !

Way to go Subterranean!
Great digs.
Been a while since I've seen a reference to tan bark. Nice.
Now a days it's called mulch around here...

Thanks for the kind word, relevantchair. I am showing my age, I guess, but the stuff surrounding the playground here is actually...tan colored bark chips, not that shredded mulch. I guess it doesn't stick to the students clothing! Sub 8-)

Great finds and a Merry Christmas to you and yours also!

Now you're talkin' my language! It do get interesting, don't it. ;) LOL

Very nice!

Yes sir, this is why I love to hit them all the time as well. Kids are always dropping stuff(so are the teachers and parents :laughing7:)

Dude you rocked today. :headbang: Who needs to shop for presents when you can pull them out of the ground. :occasion14:

Funny you should mention that Loco, I did clean and gift many beautiful sterling rings and pendants this year. Hope the recipients like them! Sub 8-)

My guess is that you were the honor graduate in school

Great finds!! Way to go, congrats and HH

Nice digs Sub! That's a sharp looking 10k and the others aren't to shabby either! Congrats!

Great job Sub! Basketball court areas are one of the best places in a park. I always spend more time there than other areas. I believe it is because a lot of players place their money, wallets and jewelry at the edges while they play. Since most are wearing shorts or sweat pants, they have no pockets and probably lose some of their goodies as they leave....or I guess they could get kicked and scattered too during the course of the play.
