Did a little fishing today on the ice. Only scored one Rainbow Trout. But it was still great to get out. The temp only got to about 15 I would say.

There was a good solid 6 inches of ice out there and it will only get thicker.

The fish finder pic is how it looked most of the day. It was a desert down there.

Nice bow. No skunk for you today! Nice pics.

Gee, I wonder why that sport has never replaced baseball as the american pastime?

I hope it never does. Thats the best part about it. Not even half the people that fish the soft water fish the hard water. Peace and quiet except for the occasional ice auger starting up.

burrr!!!! I love to fish, but I will stick to open waters! LOL Nice pictures, it does look very peaceful, that part I would like!

I don't get it... The closest thing I have that looks like that photo is the deep freezer in the garage. I've got some grouper and snapper in there so I took a look. They ain't moving either. Nothing, as still as can be. So, my conclusion is, frozen fish don't move. That's why the fish finder is so quiet.

Additionally, I thought about living inside my deep freezer and the entire idea sounded insane. I'm putting my shorts on and going out into the nice warm bay where the sun is shining. Fish move here. They are not frozen solid...

Almost went there myself today but too tired from staying up late last night...mantua and pineview are on my list this week as well, looking for panfish rather than slimers.:laughing7:

You would be surprised how much better the fishing is in the winter around here. Especially when you're talking cutthroat trout and rainbow trout. They really turn on in the cold water. I guess its because its a cold water fish!

I would love to come down to Florida and do some fishing though. Well maybe one day.
