Few more details.
I too k coil off left in my house and took control head 600 ft away. Mashed buttons on control head - still locked up.
I hooked charge cable to both coil and control hesd. Mashed buttons on control - still locked up.
I hooked cotrol head to Xp cloud site. No help mashed buttons control - still locked up.
So letting control head while on and locked up letting battery run down.
Then will retry and see what happens.

Well, you pressed every button except for the unlock button….
Okay.
Did another video mashing that button.
Stay tuned.

I have run the control battery down. Charged for 30 approx before controller would turn on. I have locked the controller back up.
I have shot some video.
Currently letting battery die again.
To try to duplicate. And pass on to Xp.
Stay tuned.
Sharp is burning late night oil trying to do this, at his expense. Imagine that.

There is also some beneficial info to share as far as battery level and a user wanting to use external battery pack hooked to controller for longer in field use especiallly using external speaker. I’ll talk about this in video. Eventually.

After controller battery was run down.
Charged for approx 25-28 minutes and unit would turn on with full screen detail. I tried to turn on immediately after battery was depleted with charge cable hooked to controller. Controller would not turn on. Checked again 10 minute point controller would not on. So waited for around 25-28 minutes and controller would come on. NOTE, I hooked coil to charger while waiting for controller battery to run down. After the around 25-28 minute mark detector controller come full on. I left charge cable hooked to controller with portable lithium battery. And battery icon in controller showed charging in progress. All systems go. Coil was still loaded in controller and it paired with no problem. Wireless hesdphones were still, loaded and reflected paired. I did unpair head phones and repaired them with no problem. After spending around 30 minutes with controller on trying to lock it up. I infact did. I never turned on backlight. I did turn external speaker control to max on controller. After screen locked up I still had detection. Meaning I had audio. No ID as screen was locked up. Showing 01 with pinpointer showing in the screen icon wise. I never had mi6 pointer with the unit. And never tried to pair mi6 pointer. Never! Meaning I didn’t have it out there hence never hit any button on any mi6 pinpointer.
So waiting for battery in controller to go dead again. And will do the same button sequence I think I did this last time the screen locked up. And will show this. Let’s see if screen locks up again stay tuned.

Xp can figure it out now surely.
I am not taking the case off of the controller.

I think it is time to connect it to a computer to see if it has been loaded with the latest firmware.
Follow what they say to do in this video:

It may be that the boot loader was misloaded by the factory and you don’t succeed with the upgrade. This would be good info to then share with Xp. They’d just have to replace it.

No, another gent has done updated his iconx from 1.0.2 to 1.0.4.
And he had no problemos.
He never said he saw a higher number version than 1.0.4 available on Xp’s site.

Btw, he didn’t realize his detector didn’t have latest till he watched one of my videos. And saw the 1.0.4 come in the screen at turn on.

As many times as I have changed versions with Xp components. I think I can figure it out. How many times have I changed versions in Deus 2 components? You don’t want a know. Wish I would kept up with. The number likely staggering.
Naturally this was done doing checks on both beta and public released firmware. To see how they compared snd spot potential bugs.
I am a good bug spotting person operating a detector!
