ID help needed

Hi guys! This coin, or bronze weight or whatever is giving me a headache. I found it near an ancient church where I found also some Byzantine coins. I know it is hard stuff but I hope you can help me.

I don't know anything about Byzantine coins, but I think it has the look of a button.

I'm going to agree with Cru'dad & say NOT coin. Maybe a coin/bullion weight or counter.
