ID help requested: Unidentified hand engraved inlay piece

Dug in Whitemarsh, PA today. Site has seen activity since pre-Revolution, including part of the Battle of Barren Ridge. The right side looks to have the edge of a hole for a fastener. Looks possibly colonial to me. Backside has no details. Enjoy!
