Found last weekend in rock shelter about 7 ft deep in SW MO. It’s beveled on each end. Most of the stuff I find there is archaic and some paleo, but with the way this thing is beveled it looks sort of like Harahey. Any ideas? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1592601558.735750.jpg

Bluff on property runs over 300 yards. Several large caves as well.


You think they were used in the fall for the nut harvest? I bet you find some good mortars and pestles. Nice looking shelter. Looks like you have been flipping the big rocks to dig under. Sometimes they will have a trash pile off the shelter where they kept them cleaned out. Might find your awl there. I have 3 shelters fr this summer to dig but right now am water hunting. Finds are slim but coming.
