Hi guys, just wondering what sort of meteorite it can be, I purchased it without any info regarding type, place of fall, etc. As you can see it has very oriented shape, fusion crust (~%70). It is 78mm (3.09in) long. Attracts magnet. Any suggestions welcomed.

Stone doesn't look like a meteorite. It has dark surface but no fusion crust. Looks like basalt. Cut it or break it and show on forum again

Nice rock. Hope you didn't pay too much. 8-)

I believe it could possibly be an iron meteorite just from researching on my own. Don't quote me but that could head you in the right direction.

I avoided this thread till now as I don't feel qualified to break the bad news to the buyer/op that this is def not a meteorite but this is typical of rocks people sell on eBay as meteorites and is a good example of buyer beware!

I too don't think this is a meteorite. Looks more like a stone used for a seine net in a river.

Looks like a meteor-wrong somethings like this always throws people off. If it doesn't pass the scratch test, not leaving a mark on tile I chalk em up to Hemitite or magnetite.
