ID on Hardstone

3 11/16" long by 1 1/2 " x 1/2". finely polished lengthwise on edges, semi polished everywhere else. I'm really not sure what it is or if it is anything! Thanks!!!

hey CHOO is a gouge a preform to a celt ?

From the pics i've seen of gouges, this may be a preform/unfinished one. There is a 7/16" x 3/8" chip on one end, but neither end is scooped out (from what pics i've seen of a gouge). The last 2 pics show both ends of this piece. Choo, I did not personally find this piece, but i would to put my hand to my heart in its authenticity and it is a central Ohio find. Yes, it is a beautiful piece. Thanks

Preform I guess maybe?? To me it just looks like a nicely polished hardstone.............not sure if it's anything......................jmo............GTP

After looking at it again it could be a Hammerstone.

My first thought was a celt preform but after seeing the marks on both ends, I would lean toward it being a hammerstone.
