Had a little luck today :) Found this near the edge of the creek and actually got an in situ that turned out to be something! About 2 1/2" long, not beveled, serrated edges. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to see you got out that is a nice looking Kirk in my opinion snap based I believe !!! Nice find and good eye ;)

Thanks! Found lots of tools, just a matter of cleaning them up and taking pix. We had parked on the side of the road and walked down to the creek, when we heard a tractor stop beside the truck. My husband went up to see if he needed to move the truck and we (daughter & I) didn't see him for 30 min or so. Turns out he is the guy who owns thousands of acres in our area and happens to own the caves that we heard so much about. We have permission to hunt everything!! He has quite a collection from the caves I guess. My husband said he's found several clovis and even carved antler buttons. Don't know how much is actually true, but it does give you something to look forward to. I was too busy hunting, so I didn't go up to talk :)

Nice point and good luck on those caves.

Oh, I'm not going in, lol!! I'll be the one to hit a radon pocket, corner a rabid critter of some sort, find a body, have it collapse, etc... This is one of them.

wow sweet looking spot.!!

Yeah caves look good from the outside. I dont care to go in them either.

I may be wrong, but the notching does not look like a Kirk, JMO It looks more like a Pickwick to me but I may not be looking at it right. Very nice find and hunting on the rock bar on the down stream end of the curve is the right spot to find something:thumbsup:and the caves I would smoke them critters out and be all over those things.

Nice find. Also nice to see ground without snow. Got next to a blizzard going on here.:sadsmiley:

So your pint is missing some of the base rite? Is it broken or just thinned down.

It happened some time ago, everything is rounded and abraded, not a clean/new break. It does look like a Pickwick in the Overstreet guide, not as long as their examples though.

Looks like someone is already working that second shelter. I have found several snapped bases in shelter areas for some reason. The base is snapped and worked again on mine. I guess just a good knife is hard to throw away. That is a nice point. Often in front of the shelters are the best spots. Good luck in ya'lls hunts in Tennessee.

I find them reworked at the base but usually the points are smaller that I find. Yours still has a nice length to it on the blade section.

That's a nice one you found, it reminds me alot of this one I got.
Take Care,
Pete,:hello:
