What is the object on the left. I dug it at a civil war era homesite.

Got a positive ID for ya on this one...

a suspender buckle. I have several identical to it. If you clean it up well, you should see some VERY small writing on it. I forget where exactly as I'm at work. Nice find!

Suspender buckle I believe is the right call. I have a couple of them. No writing, but found little stars on the one's I've found.
