I managed to locate a picket post and among the relics was this brass piece.Any ideals?

Maybe some type of tool? Gun tool maybe? Not sure but nice bunch of finds. Thing on right that is beside what looks like a coin is a sling adjuster.

Very nice dig's Lovin the french Triangles & the Carved.
Wish I had a Site like that .
Get 'em while you can , Just note where they came from 'Please' .
As for your ID Piece I just don't know.

long term "picket post" were basically small camp sites with a few bored soldiers just sitting around watching out for the enemy
