Hi Everybody!

I am hopeful some of you may be able to help me identify this beautiful crystal vase that I was able to pick up very cheaply at an estate auction. I do not know anything about the vase other than it is one of the most beautiful crystal vases I have ever seen and the etched pattern, to me looks hand made (and i just discovered a signature on the piece that I cannot read).

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'd suggest you send an email with photos to the Corning glass museum in New York .

Thank you, that is a wonderful suggestion! I did not know about that Museum - I will do that.

I'm no expert, but I would describe it as an "amethyst cut-to-clear" vase, which makes me think of Bohemian or Czech glass. But if that's correct the name is going to be an odd one by English standards. Here's an example that's not too far off, but different name it seems: Bohemian Studio Glass Acid-Etched Cameo Indian Cobalt Cut-To-Clear Vase Signed on eBid United States | 145768707
Edit: there's the obvious difference of being blue rather than purple, but note the wave design on both in the top portion... that's one of the more similar features.

Welcome to TNet. I think the above suggestions are both great, as is your vase. But I really like that table it's sitting on...

I like this vase better than the others, as well as the table. Both are awesome!!

Thank you everybody for links, insights, suggestions and compliments.

It does look a lot like some of the other cut-to-clear crystal, at least now I know what I have. I am going to try to find the artist / origin so I will try to decipher the signature as that is my main lead

Somebody suggested I use talc powder on signature (wipe excess) and take a picture after that - that may make signature more readable. If anything comes from it, I will post back here.
