Better than sandblasting it, get it rechromed. There are places all over the country that do it. Probably $60 to have it done and it will look new again. My dad restores old Chevys.

Even pitted like that it will sell for 100$ on ebay or 200$ if you rechrome it. So you did not dig something great? How many coins you dig that sell for over 100$?

I love the old hood ornaments they bring back childhood memories I used to act like they were airplanes almost all the old ones had wings, cool find.
