Hello All,
First post on TreasureNet been watchin and enjoying your finds a long time. I mostly hunt creeks and rivers throughout central illinois. A few weeks ago went searchin gravel bars with a buddy and found a real sweet big blade the pics and insitu was taken with my cheap phone and dont do it justice. I've been searching for over 10 years made some nice finds but this is my best find so far. I am curious what type you all thought it was.I've been looking through my books I'm leaning towards a dovetail hip roof base variety its about 5 1/2 inches long thanks for any input you can give me.

My father and I where wondering what county you are in. I am from Illinois as well

Just looks like a rock to me. What is it supposed to be?

JK. Great find! :)

And that folk is what creek stained Burlington chert looks like. Great find, really great. I'm voting banner.

Nice work.

Congrats bit time on one awesome find......the stars and moon were in perfect alignment for you, for sure. The odds of it making it whole,
tumbling through a rock bed is like winning the Lotto!

nice find - looked around a little on the Univ of Wisconsin Mississippi Valley Arc. Center site - it MOST closely resembles the St. Charles point - "This point type was named after examples found in central Illinois and eastern Missouri. The type site is the Gronefeld site, St. Charles County, Missouri." and "Age: 10,000 to 8,000 B.P." I rely on these sites since I am no expert. Lots of good info there.

Yeah that one should of been a banner find.

Man that is just too cool to be real. I am impressed - beautiful finds! Kat
