i'm from illinois

i am heading up to wisconsin for a few days of vacation and thought about bringing my metal detector. we will be camping and from the sounds of things i shouldn't even bother with it. no hunting on DNR land and waterways. are their any other laws i should be aware of besides local ordinace?

No state lands or water, no national land or water . Some counties allow water or land some dont. County water beach swimming area I would go if I could.
Just my ideas, ask ranger what can it hurt.
