I'm Hooked! Finally, Some Small Silver For The New Guy!!!

New guy here...

I recently borrowed a machine and joined a friend to do a little MD'ing.

We spent two hours in a farmers field and I came up with two coins in the same hole!

A 1935 Buffalo and a 1930 Wheatie...

That's all it took for me to purchase a new Minelab X-50 this last Friday.

I've been swingin' every single day since then

I found an 1884 IH, an old button and a old harmonica over the weekend!

Then I decided to hit up a local school for some clad and practice...

Boy am I glad I did!!!

I found my first silver coins

A 1942 Merc and a 1946 Rosie, both in the same hole!

Came across another Wheatie (1937) today.

Not to mention quite a bit of clad along the way as well

11-Quarters
7-Nickels
12-Pennies
12-Dimes

I couldn't have asked for a better last few days learning to use my machine!

I never thought digging old stuff up would be so much fun.

Even if it's an old rusty square nail

The silver was a lot more fun though.

The night I was lucky enough to find the silver, I rushed (sped the whole way) right home after work (I work till 8pm) to grab my gear and went directly to the site.

I definitely have a problem, lmao

Now keep in mind I've been doing most of my MD'ing at dusk, ending well after dark.

So I sorta have been doing this in my sleep!

By the time I get home, I'm ready to hit the sack

I think using the machine in the dark and not being able to see the display is helping me learn the machine better...

Hit the same site tonight... only clad this go around

This particular area I've been hitting hard has a loop of 15-20 benches located under two huge old pines.

It looks like it's been a gathering place during lunch time at this school for quite some time.

I think I'm gonna give it a rest though and start on the adjacent football field Friday...
