I would never hunt an area I didnt have to ask!!I look at as the landowner has "protected",it for all these years and I dont have to take some elses seconds.Just ask, offer to show them that you leave no evidence of a "dig",show respect,I offer them some of the finds.Dont beg,if the answer is no,then its no.Move on.Research, research research
Great advice mate :icon_thumleft: and remember you can only find what has been lost :icon_thumleft:

Try digging every pull tab and steel crown cap you can find, maybe free up some deepies.

Been having a dry spell lately as well. Really like this advice...might go back over some areas...hmm...

Location,location & location

Many years back my father-in-law and hunting buddy (he talked me into getting into this hobby) remembered a Old school news building that had been converted into apartments. Beside this building was a grassy strip that was no more then 20 feet wide.

We got permission to hunt it, and did we ever get a shock, that 20x40 ft area produced, many, many Barber coins, a few Seated Liberty coins, a couple Standing Liberty Quarters, and some old foreign silvers, many Indian Heads and Wheat's. For no bigger then what the area was it produced a huge amount of keeper coins.

Sure miss that guy, he passed away at 87 years young.
