This weekend it was sweltering in Boston during this heatwave. I was moving our window AC unit from the bedroom to the living room. As I was opening the window to get it the window was sticking but suddenly... I overcame the friction and the window flew up. Before I could grab it the AC unit toppled out of our third floor window! My first thought was my wife's car below it and second was there anybody down there? Then it crash landed like some sort of divine demonstration of Newtons law. Needless to say the AC did not survive. My wife said "what was that?" I answered "that was the AC." Finding an AC in the city during a heatwave is like a run on the banks. Almost impossible. After several phone calls I found a place. My wife was a little upset at me. Understandable. I challenged her to find a man who could make her lunch, drop an ac out the window, find two more acs and install them within an hour! Not possible.
With the AC unit happily churning away I drove in my 98 degree car to chase some silver down the street. I found 3 Wheaties and then a marble in a hole looking for another signal. In a way it was my lucky day! I imagine several thousand people die every year around the world in accidents like mine. Thanks for reading.
No photo of the Wheaties and marble (Just imagine it!)
