I'm new to metal detecting

Hi to all just wanted to post a message to say hi and im lookin forward to metal detecting i have a discovery 3000 from radioshack i bought at a garage sale found the owners manual online at

Welcome

The only way to get good is to practice practice practice. Don't let anyone give you grief about your BH! They are fine machines.

Keep a log of where you hunt and what you find because there WILL come a time when you need somewhere to go and you WILL forget what you found where after a little while.

Try schools, parks, and don't be afraid to knock on doors and ask EVERYONE you know for permission to hunt their yard.

Welcome to T-net Good luck and HH Tom P.S. I'm new to so can't give you any good advice, but if you have your own yard try the driveway area and back yard and maybe plant a test garden (penny,nickle,dime quater, and silver-gold to see what your machine says to you. HH Tom

just remember to turn down your sens. to half way and all the 199's are probably iron
