I'm on a roll!

Hey gang!

I wanted to get out again before the weather get too bad (this weekend :() I pulled up some info on the net for parks close to home. There are so many tucked away off the beaten path. There are no signs of them on main roads, you just have to know where they are. Anyway.....I hit 4 of them today!

They were fun to find.....and I'm fairly certain that they have not been hunted. I found some clad, which is fine for me. One park I hit was really large with two play areas covered in sand. I was excited. I really didn't find too much there at first. I went over to the second play area and found a kids coin drop. There must have been 20 pennies! Lucky for me though, one was a '39 wheatie! :D Then I found the bracelet. Just the clip on the end was showing in the sand. I pulled up on it and it just kept coming! I almost passed out. It's beautiful and heavy. When I got it home....cleaned it up and examined it.....it turned out to be costume. Boo! I'm still gonna wear it.

Went to the last park.....local by my house. I know this park is hunted, I just get lucky occasionally. It's were I found the little silver ring and the SAC dollar. Well, I found her twin today in the same spot. I must have missed it somehow last time. I always rescan my holes, so I not sure how that happened.

I was freezing cold when I got home, but I sure had a good time.

Thanks for reading and Happy Hunting!
Moon

I like the bracelet, even though it's only base metal.

Keep exploring for new hunting places!

I found a vintage Napier earring once. Exciting find at the time, but there was only one and it was in pretty bad shape.

Re: I'm on a roll!

Cool digs..research can pay off bigtime!

Re: I'm on a roll!

wtg moon, that is a beautiful bracelet. the net can be really helpful in finding those parks, when ever we travel I always pull up the cities and counties web pages as they will lots of times not only give names of parks and playgrounds, most give street addresses and some even show pics of what is there.
Keep going and keep us posted

I'd wear that too Moon, it's awful pretty. Everytime someone comments on it you get to tell your story of how you came by it, nice. Good detecting on and off the field. Keep up the good work.

Re: I'm on a roll!

Thanks for your replies. Research does pay off. Just wish I could find some cellar holes in the area. I've really been trying to find Topo maps from the 1800's. There is not alot available on the net for my area though. I know there is really old stuff out there...I just can't seem to find it. So for now.....Tot lots for me!

HH everyone,
Moon

You are on a roll ! sweet ! I dont know about your area but in mine there were county atlas's made during the 1860's.These have been about the oldest maps i've been able to find so far.I have one of my county that i call my treasure map ! ;D

Re: I'm on a roll!

Thanks Keiser, I think that I'll have to check that out. I've been to the library and there are some maps there....I just need to get copies.
