Im stumped

I'm stumped

Not sure about this, very heavy,looks like maybe copper. First thought was a boundary marker but it was lying flat and nowhere near any property lines (in these times) Also the top has been hammered pretty hard and this was soft ground..... Only mark on it is a small number 4. Any Ideas?

Looks a lot like an old soldering iron that was heated red hot in a fire before it was used to melt solder. But I am stumped by the handle. How long is it? Monty

Yup, I believe it is as well!

copper section is about 4" long and the steel/iron part is another 10"
