The three notches makes me think it might be possible to unscrew it with a hammer and chisel or the appropriate spanner wrench. But I have no idea what it is.

Sorry creskol, found a link to the roller and lost it. Did not have a pic. It's a large roller and I have no idea what the machine would be. I was searching by what I'm thinking is 424P on your pic. I might not be reading that right. What does it look like to you? Usually this would be on a conveyor to transport heavy items. If I have the number wrong it may be why I'm coming up empty on pix.
