Here's a neat little badge I found at an antique shop today. It's imperial German, dating to the late 1890s, to around 1900. It likely belonged to a soldier in the 40th Fusiliers regiment. The badge is to commemorate the mans service, as the phrase in the flag roughly translates to, "I proudly Served the Fatherland."
