Importance of prospecting

After 2 weeks of looking for a new dig I believe that I finally found it. Included is a picture of my finds for the day which was taken from the first flood layer directly underneath 8 inches of overburden. Still looking at 6 feet to bedrock. it may turn out to be a bust but I figure what the hell it's worth a shot

I've done well in this area of the Black Hills over the last 11 months. I truly believe that the Black Hills area is underestimated and looked over by other prospectors which is fine with me. Mechanized mining permits are hard to come by and you are still forced to work the earth by hand, which again, is fine with me.
