In situ creek finds......(12-16-2010)

Here are some photos of some cool finds on freakishly cold day in the creek...... The first is a mystery type. I almost want to say Benton culture. I would say definitely at least mid-archaic. It is super well made, shame it's "heartbreaker". #2 looks like an Adena with the tip fire-popped off. #3 is a tiny Adena Waubesa. I like to imagine it belonged to a warrior's young son. #4 is a thin and nicely made Benton point, definitely worth the trouble. I froze my tail off on this day, but hey, you ain't gonna get 'em sitting on the couch!!

very nice finds creekwalker, really like that benton. i always liked
those creek stained points, i guess its well worth
a little cold creekwalking when you are finding points.
most everything around here is froze up or covered up with
leaves. we need a good rain to wash off the gravel bars.

I like that Benton. They are one of my favorites. We do not see many of that type posted for some reason. Nice finds.

Yep good ole Mississippi. No gold in those creeks but you guys have lots of big projectile points. Nice pics too.
