Cut colonial Spanish and Silver wings

had to bribe my huntin buddy to go with me to a group hunt at an old boy scout camp. He said he needed to mow his farm and was behind. I said "we'll get it it next week." He said "you mean YOU will get it next week." I said ok let's go hunt. We got to the camp and of course it had already been pounded pretty hard, but in the first 40 minutes by the sidewalk I got a good silver signal, and 3 inches down I got some silver wings.
Stayed for 3 or 4 hours and all I got was 1948 Rosie and couple wheat pennies. We agreed to go hunt arrowheads at an old spot where an old house site was. I detected while he looked for arrowheads. 15 mi into It I was swinging and had my head turned heard a beep and looked down and on top of the field was a piece of eight. Couldn't believe it. It was my first authentic one. When I was ready to meet back up with him I said to my self, "I feel bad that he had not found any silver that day, I gonna get him a good solid silver signal to him and let him dig it." He did and it was a pretty decent 1899 barber quarter.. it was all good at the end of the day! Thanks.

Nice silver. The Barber quarter continues to elude me for some reason!!! Congrats!!

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone!

Very nice day.

great digs!!! the cob is nice, especially w/ the date

Not a cob, those are the crude hammered silver coins, the one the OP found is milled. Still a terrific find, I don't think I will ever dig one in my life :)
