What is the size of this item?

The back looks like a representation of an Aztec calendar. I'm not an expert by any stretch, that's just my first impression.

That is a definate depiction of the Aztec calender. The face on the the other side depicts Quetzalcoatl. There was a deity by this name in Aztec legend, and there was also a man by this name. Here is a link to get some background info on the legend and the man...........http://weber.ucsd.edu/~anthclub/quetzalcoatl/quetzal.htm

I have not found exactly what it is, but it appears to be a Mexican coin from the 20th century or possibly a token. Still looking if I find a match I will post.... Numerous coins and some medals were used by Mexico, they had the Aztec Calendar on the Reverse and a Aztec Chief or King on the Obverse......

Hope this helps.

Nice find, I like it alot. It reminds me of a few revolutionary war medals.

I don't know if your area goes back that far.

Hope you can find out.

It appears to have had a loop at the top for attachment, maybe it is some type of presentation medal.Check it with a magnet or medal detector for composition. If it made of stone as a carving then thats another story altogether!
