I think you have a vivid imagination but a real nice artifact. I'd call it a hammer stone.
 

I applaud your findings...sometimes we need to think outside the box. I`m sure there are many games, activities, that took place that we are totally blind too.

P.S. If you roll that 8 sided rock a ninth time it will have landed on the same number twice.
