Indian head button

Haven't gotten out in a while but had a good day today. Found this neat Indian head penny button. Other finds were a '40 Washington quarter and a '39 merc.

The front of the button has nice detail with the word "liberty". The back is toast but still has a few strands of thread fused with the rust.

That's actually an Indian head nickel or "buffalo nickel" Not a penny.. nice find
