Went out to a old field with my wife and kids to find arrow heads. Half hour into the walk my five year old son found this spear head! he was so excited! cool weekend finds, a Indian spear head and the 1838 large cent.

Bullshrink,

That is a beauty! What are you thinking on the classification? Adena, Adena-Robbins, Cresap, something else? That one could bring down a mastadon...

Congrats, Subterranean

no clue on classification. actually it would be great if anyone on here could tell me anything about it.We found it in western mass in a plowed field.i have been reading some about classification of arrowheads but i have alot to learn.any info on this would be really great!

Try posting here- American Indian Artifacts I'm sure someone will help you out.

Nice find. Actually it's probably a knife. A piece that large would most likely bounce off any big game. You could not propel it hard enough for penetration, not even with an Atle Atle. Does'nt take anything away from the piece, it is a nice artifact.

That's a Nice one for sure,.Here's the biggest one I know of from here on the coast of N.C..It was dredged up in a oyster dredge by my Great Grandfather in the early 1900's.He was born in 1895 & always told us he was a youg man when he caught it.Me & my dad have found some close in size but this one we still have not beat to this day.
