Indian Springs

Scotto & I went back to the 'Pine Plantations' for a hunt, he found a $1.00 bill on the road while looking for crystals, the day was very hot, & we went into the shade along a mt river, leading down to the river was a beautiful Indian Spring where the Native Americans would camp to be near the cool water.
We found flint chips, crystals, & lots of wild flowers, but soon decided we would come back around the last of September when it is cooler. :icon_sunny:

Even in that shady setting it looks hot. Let's hope it's cooler in Sept. Nice flint, are there some uniface tools? and what is the red and cream flower? I've never seen that one. Thanks for the walk :icon_thumleft:

It was surprisingly cool, & the water was cold when i washed my face in it, i don't think any are tools, just chips.
The flower is a 'new one' on me also.

Great pictures as usual.
That is so cool to sit and photograph where people had sat thousands of years ago.

How appropriate, Indian Pink! Says it does well in the garden, and hummers like it, sounds like something I should look into. Really glad you posted it,

Love the scenery & flowers...if that's a thistle it not what we have here. Gosh, I hate those things...I have to dig up and remove totally...even with leather gloves on I'm very careful. Those stickers will cripple a cow too.

Cool pics. We left Colorado last week and it was 25 degrees and it stayed in the 90's when we got to Dad's house in Oklahoma. It wasn't too bad at night, though, and it didn't storm at all. It was very hot and humid, but I went out and did some work in the cemetaries for Decoration Day and managed not to get heat stroke.

Thanks, it must have been a 'shock' to your system coming down to heat like that.
