I always hear people say that indians and especially wheat pennies mean there should be silver around. I have hunted many places where this is true but also a lot where that is not the case. Today I hit an old church that I have never been to before. I immediately started hitting wheats and some clad. I ended up with 9 Wheats including a 1909,10 and 11. I also got three nice condition Indians(1880, 86,96). The silver never came. There may be one hiding in there but I think dimes and quarters were just more tightly held on to back in the day. Especially in these small rural farming communities

I'd be happy with that! Maybe somebody was there in the past and dug the silver out and left the copper coins. At any rate I'd be willing to bet there is silver there somewhere!

Id like to be good enough to know what is a wheat penny and what is silver.

I'll put the IHC's right up there with the silver. Congrats on the finds:thumbsup:

Looks like great finds to me! Congrats!

Nice finds! I dug 36 wheats at one site before I found one silver, and this was over numerous trips to the site.

I'd take Indians in place of most silver any day. Congrats.

I love Indians, great finds.

Great finds! Congrats!
Your IH's are in great shape.

The one I found was toasred, and I too have hopes of turning up some silver.
