I was pretty happy to catch this little bugger at the feeder, finally! Come to find out the Indigo bunting is actually black, the diffraction of light through the feathers makes it appear blue.

Stopped at the ocean for a few minutes, thought I would share this Great Egret what a big beauty.

Got home and did some more planting. I can't believe how nice the Phlox smell?

Enjoy!

Wow..great shots! I'm still waiting for them to pass through my area.

Errr...did you have any problems getting those flowers planted on that vertical wall? :icon_scratch:

Kim, what a great comeback to Wes on the Hanging Plants LOL. The photos of the Bunting are great, I have only ever had quick glimspes of them and never saw any that I can remember at a bird feeder. They are one cool looking bird.

Awesome pics as always sis! Looks like spring around there with all those beautiful flowers! :icon_sunny: :icon_sunny:

This is only the second year he has even shown up, this year he seems to be hanging around. I would really love for them to nest here. Patience.......sometimes frustration wins out, but I got him! :)

Don, not often you can get Wes either! :D I'm not sure if it's the cracked corn or the thistle he preffers, I just added both to the feeder when he started showing up. I'm guessing the corn by one of the pictures.

Finally spring has sprung Sis, what a beautiful weekend! :icon_sunny:

I do love my camera, I've always loved taking pictures, the equipment makes the imagination come alive. :)

So many have said they have never seen the Indigo Bunting, I'm glad I finally got the opportuity to get his picture to share. Come to find out this bird migrates at night using the stars for guidance, sometimes getting confused when the stars aren't present. :icon_study:

Thanks folks!
