Info needed on Malone NY/Salmon River

Hey folks. My uncle owns a piece of property near Malone, NY on the Salmon River. The property is between the Salmon River and the 122. I am planning to make it up there in the spring to do a hunt. Does anyone have any info on the area. I am looking for info on Colonial Settlement and any military history from the War of 1812 and Revolutionary War periods.
