Info on an old lock?

It's about 3/4 inch thick. The circle at the key hole is brass. 3 1/2 tall and 2 1/2 wide. Can someone help I.D it and possibly guess a close date? I've only soaked it in apple cider vinegar so far so excuse the shape. Shane

It's a wrought iron lever lock, aka: smokehouse lock .. Civil War era roughly.

I agree with creskol. I have one exactly like it that has been cleaned up nicely. It was from a definite camp site. So I guess it could be a decade or so earlier.
