info on NFLD rutherford brothers half-cent

I believe this coin is a Rutherford Brothers 1841 half-cent from St. John, Newfoundland, but I'm not totally positive. Found in the yard of a 1740s house in Gloucester, MA, about 7 inches deep. any info would be welcome. sorry for the poor quality of the photos.
