Is is plastic and a photo of the back would help without that I say it is a modern day overcoat button, circa 70's-80's.

It is the same as those on eBay. Just wondering about history and why it was up in the mountains of wyoming ?

Was told it may be a Dutch military coat button.

The button experts like to see the back before they make a determination. I'm only a good at repairing vehicles, survival outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, metal detecting and shooting firearms. On buttons I use my commonsense, lol.
