Got me scratching my head. I’m sure it’s bent. Rang up as silver, got some green patina. Clock? Vehicle part? Part of harness?
If you hadn’t said rang up as silver and green patina, I would have guessed the backing plate from some vehicle’s water pump. Good luck!

Good guess on the WP backing plate.

Note just because the detector says something, it can be any high conductor alloy as this recovery.
Large/brass/multiple holes it's what most detectors thrive on.

Thanks for the advice

The shape kinda looks like clock innards, but those would be the most heavy duty brass clock innards I've ever seen.

Custom made reign related horse tack for a pair or group of horses that pull wagons? Leather straps would ride through the sections.

I’d guess not. Those holes are too specifically shaped for something as random as leather reins. I’d guess they had a more precise intention. The clearances must have a purpose; IMO dealing with mechanical motion.

Could it be from a vintage outboard boat motor? I’m just trying to find anything that resembles it at this point haha

Sure, I don’t see why not.

A bracket. For belt pulleys maybe. Or mounting a power steering pump, alternator, generator, A/C... I was thinking automotive/farm.

Just ran across that same ordeal. I posted this and quite a few members wrote in as clock innards. Googled some images and found some near close matches.

I'm assuming this is brass or copper? In that case, not likely anything automotive. I tend to like the clock guts theory, but, just doesn't look delicate enough for that. Maybe some other sort of machinery?
