Inside piece of metagabbro

See attached pic. Have some what appears to be metagabbro taken from a local outcropping. I’ve looked at material from there in the past not finding anything particularly interesting. Then, I found material like in the attached pic.

Pic shows two sides of same chunk of rock. Bottom piece looks like typical, right? However, this metagabbro has layers of reddish brown to grey mineralization running through it as seen in the top piece.

Original thought was that it was just iron oxide. However, when running my Falcon MD20 detector over the reddish brown mineralization, detector signaled in the same way it would if it was passed over gold, silver, copper (i.e., nonferrous metal). Very strong signal!

Anyone see something like this before, have thoughts on what this reddish brown material is?
