??? ???I went to an old homesite today. All that remained of the old place is the limestone chimney. I figured there might be some good coins around it. I don't imagine that it has been hunted much since it takes a 4X4 to get to it. Lots of rough roads. Anyways, I got a strong signal and it showed to be about 6 inches deep. I dug down to find what appeared to be brass knuckles. Not sure how they got there nor do I now anything about the age or value.
I didn't find anything else very interesting but I plan on going back this winter when the grass dies.
Just thought I would share this with ya'll.

acedigger,

cool knuckles! :o

I loved to make a find like that, I mean, it makes for a great conversational piece! ;D

Where is blanket in relation to dallas?? ???

Yeah, everyone I've shown them to thought they were pretty cool.
Blanket is about 2 hrs south of Dallas on Hwy377.

Has brass knuckles been around that long?
It is an interesting find.

Just goes to show...anything can be found anywhere.

??? Looking forward to see what pops out of te ground on you next visit there. HH and keep it swinging.

I thought they might be illegal. As a matter of fact when I was going home I thought to myself, if I get pulled over how am I going to explain this. Luckily I kept all the trash. Really depends on the cop I guess. So yeah its a very cool looking paperweight :D

Hummmm. Look around for a depression in the dirt. Who knows, maybe the owner used them on somebody and......Nah!!!!! Probley not!(:-)
