One of the fun aspects of digging for bottles for me is finding other unexpected things. I love finding the bottles and that is truly the reason I go, but it's always fun to see other aspects of nineteenth century American life as you are digging down to the bottom. Shoes, shells, bones, leather scraps, plates, ceramic shards, and broken tobacco pipes are a common sight while digging the old dumps. Sometimes you get so zoned out digging down to the bottom that you miss things like this. Sometimes it's good to slow it down and really inspect everything a little more. View attachment 1380334 I'm not exactly sure what I have here but I think it's an advertising plate for newspaper or magazine printing. That's my theory anyways. It's mirrored image so that it could be stamped to something. It's that or for imprinting onto wood maybe? It's an ad for REGAL SHOES for men and women. It took me a while to decipher what it even was! It's not in great condition by any means and might not hold any monetary value but it's an interesting item and I will hold on to it because I like it. Here's a couple recent finds for my fellow bottle collectors to enjoy(since this is the bottles and glass section of our beloved treasurenet)!View attachment 1380335.View attachment 1380336.View attachment 1380339.View attachment 1380340. There's some glass.
