Interesting Hat - Not sure what to call it ?

I got it last weekend for 50 cents - It seems to be a soft leather like lambskin . It has nice beadwork & and little metal studs on some of the seams . What is it called ?

I would say so. I've seen several, usually marked Harley Davidson or with people who had Harley stuff. I would call it "Native American design Motorcycle Harley Davidson style leather Riding Skull Cap" Put it under Riding Clothes or some such category.

Unusual with the seed bead band on the front. Does it look original or could it have been added at a later date by the previous owner?

The terms are interchangeable nowadays (doo rag/skull cap) but in this country a "doo rag" was traditionally worn by African Americans.

I think you are looking for a Motorcyclist, A doo Rag is normally a form of cloth. This is leather... You can always use both terms, space available.
