✅ SOLVED Interesting little item need help with

I dug this yesterday next to an old suspender part on a hill that was definitely key battlefield area here. Funny thing is we didn't find any bullets or anything else war related so I'm wondering if this could be a hat pin for possibly another era or if it even is a hat pin at all. It looks silver plated and possibly might have a capital letter I in the middle of it. There is some sort of attachment bar on the back.

Those two ends on the back close together then you put it through material and open back up to keep attached
